after our special walling lane first christmas morning, we drove to palestine to spend the day with chad's family. tyler enjoyed opening even more presents and spending time with the cousins from that side of the family.

mommy and tyler in the snow
chad and i have always spent christmas morning by ourselves in our home on walling lane since we got married 6 years ago. we've had a fun tradition of drinking coffee by the fire in our "winter living room" as we open our stockings and presents. chad has always read from the bible as well and this being tyler's first christmas, we decided to keep the tradition alive!!! we fed tyler his cereal and fuji apples, opened presents and then went outside to take some pictures in the snow still left on the ground from the night before. it was a perfect 1st christmas morning for tyler.

christmas eve at poppy and zuzie's

snow with the cousins

i think this photo is hilarious. it looks like chad and i just got married and we're running off into the sunset...kind of :)

tyler's first snowman

poppy and zuzie hosted the whole family for christmas eve this year. it was so much fun opening presents, eating a ton of fantastic food and spending time with the family. tyler didn't really know what was going on yet but he sure enjoyed all of the attention he got. around noon, we looked outside and it was SNOWING....in dallas by the way!!! and it snowed until later in the night. how wonderful that tyler's first christmas was white!!!

also, if you haven't noticed by now in all of our photos up to this point, tyler is smiling. it is not because we just happen to catch him smiling and click the picture. whenever he sees a camera, he automatically just smiles for some reason. it's hilarious and says a lot about his sweet and happy personality. mommy thinks he's going to be a model :)

the face monkey...

chad went into tyler's room the other day and caught him sleeping with this monkey on his face. we thought it was hilarious!!!!!!!!!! mainly because i have always slept with my "face pillow" to block out the light and cover my ears while i sleep. so now tyler has a "face monkey" to do the same. we're obviously related!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving...finally!

well it's been a little busy around the frantzen household and i am just now able to sit here and post our fun thanksgiving pictures. we spent thanksgiving day with zuzie and poppy and then drove to east texas friday to spend the night with granddad and nana. tyler loved all of the excitement.

he also has started eating solid foods which has been a real treat for him i believe. he loves fuji apples and butternut squash!!!! mommy has made these first fruits and veggies for him and i have really enjoyed it. not a big deal or a lot of time at all. today i made fresh peas. we'll see if he likes them!!!
