precious little angel

i just had to show off my sweet little boy in this precious little photo. isn't he just a doll!!!!!!!!!! i really want to eat him up for dinner :)

christmas day in palestine

oliver, lisa (chad's sister) nana, granddad and us in front of the christmas tree
after our special walling lane first christmas morning, we drove to palestine to spend the day with chad's family. tyler enjoyed opening even more presents and spending time with the cousins from that side of the family.

mommy and tyler in the snow
chad and i have always spent christmas morning by ourselves in our home on walling lane since we got married 6 years ago. we've had a fun tradition of drinking coffee by the fire in our "winter living room" as we open our stockings and presents. chad has always read from the bible as well and this being tyler's first christmas, we decided to keep the tradition alive!!! we fed tyler his cereal and fuji apples, opened presents and then went outside to take some pictures in the snow still left on the ground from the night before. it was a perfect 1st christmas morning for tyler.

christmas eve at poppy and zuzie's

snow with the cousins

i think this photo is hilarious. it looks like chad and i just got married and we're running off into the sunset...kind of :)

sweet baby looking at the snow fall from the sky

tyler's first snowman

poppy and zuzie hosted the whole family for christmas eve this year. it was so much fun opening presents, eating a ton of fantastic food and spending time with the family. tyler didn't really know what was going on yet but he sure enjoyed all of the attention he got. around noon, we looked outside and it was SNOWING....in dallas by the way!!! and it snowed until later in the night. how wonderful that tyler's first christmas was white!!!

also, if you haven't noticed by now in all of our photos up to this point, tyler is smiling. it is not because we just happen to catch him smiling and click the picture. whenever he sees a camera, he automatically just smiles for some reason. it's hilarious and says a lot about his sweet and happy personality. mommy thinks he's going to be a model :)

the face monkey...

chad went into tyler's room the other day and caught him sleeping with this monkey on his face. we thought it was hilarious!!!!!!!!!! mainly because i have always slept with my "face pillow" to block out the light and cover my ears while i sleep. so now tyler has a "face monkey" to do the same. we're obviously related!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving...finally!

well it's been a little busy around the frantzen household and i am just now able to sit here and post our fun thanksgiving pictures. we spent thanksgiving day with zuzie and poppy and then drove to east texas friday to spend the night with granddad and nana. tyler loved all of the excitement.

he also has started eating solid foods which has been a real treat for him i believe. he loves fuji apples and butternut squash!!!! mommy has made these first fruits and veggies for him and i have really enjoyed it. not a big deal or a lot of time at all. today i made fresh peas. we'll see if he likes them!!!

6 months old!!!

sweet baby and his granddad
sweet baby and his nana reading a bedtime story
ok is this my baby or my husband?
how fast time goes. everyone says it and it's so true. i just can't get over what a wonderful time in our lives this is. sweet baby tyler is just a little angel and i don't know what we did before him!!! (actually i do know, chad and i went out to dinner a lot and visited foreign countries...)

we haven't been to our 6 month check up yet to see his stats but i'm sure he's still on that curvy-line thing because he's really heavy and i have to say, looking quite chunky in my book. we have finally began feeding him rice cereal...which is going well actually. he is also sitting up on his own...almost, way more aware of everything around him and just smiling at everyone! he seems to love people. his grandparents came in town for several days to watch him while i did a little work in the design center. here are some pictures they took.

my precious little angel.

tyler is almost sitting up by himself now...amazing!

mommy enjoying a little happy hour cocktail...the paci works wonders!!!
what a gorgeous fall it has been so far here in dallas. we have spent lots of time outside in our wonderful backyard, sitting on patios and going on stroller rides. tyler is just amazed by all of the sights and sounds when we're outside. we can tell he is going to follow in his daddy's footsteps and become an "outdoors man!"

we decided to go to the arboretum on a gorgeous friday afternoon and had a wonderful time. afterwards, we decided to reward ourselves with some wine and cheese at X10 cellars. couldn't believe sweet baby let us enjoy several glasses without making a peep!!! he is just so GOOD!!!

tyler with aunt lisa.
tyler had his 4 month check-up yesterday and is doing wonderful! he now weighs 13 lbs 8 oz and is 24 1/2" long. it's just amazing how every day he either does something new or sees something new. chad bought a coffee cup with tyler's name on it for me to drink my morning coffee out of and tyler has become fascinated with it. it's hilarious that as opposed to the thousands of expensive toys out there, he loves this bright colored coffee cup. i'm sure this won't last but we'll enjoy it while it does. tyler is also doing wonderful at tummy time, picking his head up and keeping it up while watching around the room---or admiring princess rosemary. he also is able to sit up in his green pod seat now and play with toys. this new little development is quite beneficial for mommy who can now prepare her lunch and eat while watching him entertain himself. he is still just so darn happy ALL the time...he smiles at everything and everyone...esp. his parents!!! we feel like his laid-back, happy and loving personality he had at birth is just getting more and more prevalent as he gets older. chad and i feel SO blessed to have this sweet baby in our lives. our love for this little miracle just gets stronger every day...i really didn't know i could love something so much that it would hurt. that little angel....we love him dearly!!!
